The Annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival
How it all started.
The night before Brendan Tevlin passed in June of 2014, Brendan suggested that his friends organize a pick-up lacrosse game during their summers home from college. In the years since Brendan was tragically taken from us, we have gathered to carry out his idea of what has now become the Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival. The event is an opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to play a game Brendan loved and create the reunion setting he suggested. In addition to Youth and Adult lacrosse games for both men and women, we hold a tricky-tray and barbecue with old friends and new. All are welcome! Our goal is to carry out Brendan’s passion for service and raise funds in his memory. Proceeds are donated to charities and organizations that best match Brendan’s spirit, interests and love of life.
To Our Friends, Supporters, and the Greater Community,
After eleven unforgettable years, the Good Vibes & Easy Living Foundation and the Tevlin family have made the difficult decision not to host the Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival.
What began in 2014 as a way for a close group of friends and family to honor Brendan’s life and spirit has grown into something none of us could have imagined. From coolers and lawn chairs at the first game to more than 200 players gathering annually, this event has become a celebration not just of Brendan, but of friendship, community, and the values he held dear—joy, kindness, and living life to the fullest.
Thanks to your support, we were able to build The Brendan P. Tevlin Field at Seton Hall Prep, donate to dozens of causes that reflect Brendan’s spirit, interest, love of life, and create a space each year to reconnect, reflect, and spread the message of "Good Vibes & Easy Living." Seeing the lives touched by this event—players, families, volunteers, and friends—has meant more than we could ever express.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this journey possible. A heartfelt thank you to Seton Hall Prep and the Shillelagh Club for giving us a home for the event, to St. James’s Gate and the Meade family for generously feeding players and fans each year, to Anheuser-Busch for their support, to the Shillelagh and South Park Pipe Bands, and to the many Irish-American and North Jersey organizations who stood with us.
To our officials who volunteered their time, to our generous donors—corporate and personal—to every player who laced up their cleats, and to the volunteers who showed up year after year: thank you. And to our board—Rich Shahpazian, Dave King, Michael Condon, Kathleen Magnier, Kenny McNulty, and Debbie Shahpazian—none of this would have been possible without your time, effort, and love.
We hope you’ll continue to follow the Good Vibes & Easy Living Foundation as we look ahead to what’s next. We’ll be announcing future plans in the coming months and continuing to find meaningful ways to honor Brendan.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you—share your favorite photos, stories, or memories from any of the unforgettable festivals. Thank you for helping us build something truly special.
With love and gratitude,
The Good Vibes & Easy Living Foundation & The Tevlin Family
