About Good Vibes & Easy Living

Our origins began in the summer of 2014 after Brendan Tevlin’s passing, when Rich Shahpazian and Dave King met at Broadway Diner in Summit, NJ with some ideas and a notebook. They wanted to fulfill the idea Brendan had that summer to organize a pickup lacrosse game for his friends. Brendan believed in the comradery and the strong bond amongst the lacrosse community to bring his friends together after their first year away at college. As the planning followed over the next few weeks to make his vision come true, many of us were in awe of all of the different communities that Brendan had impacted. It was truly amazing to see various groups of people reach out from the Irish community, the lacrosse community, Seton Hall Prep, University of Richmond, the people of Livingston and Essex County, and countless others.

With everyone’s help, we were able to work together and form the first Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival in less than a month. As a result, roughly 100 players spanning all age groups and hundreds of spectators were in attendance to support the Tevlin and McNulty families.  Over the next few years, through the growth of the Festival and continuous support from the community, Seton Hall Prep proudly informed us they had raised  enough money to build the Brendan Patrick Tevlin ‘13 Memorial Field.  In October, 2017, the Good Vibes & Easy Living non-profit Foundation was formed, with Board members Michael Condon, Rich Shahpazian, Kathleen Magnier, Kenny McNulty, Dave King, and Debbie Shahpazian committed to carrying out Brendan’s passion for service. The Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival is viewed by many coaches, players and spectators as one of the most unique events in the lacrosse community. Our goal has been to hold a family-friendly event, that is affordable for everyone to enjoy a day full of good vibes and lacrosse, just as Brendan would have wanted.
